Ahlam is an eDiscovery and forensics specialist who first began her journey into the technical realm from the professional legal professional arena. Proper and concise writing, as well as grammatical correctness, is always critical when drafting legal documents. As we all know one word can change the whole meaning of a document. Prior to her legal life, Ahlam was in retail management, where she coached and developed numerous employees throughout her tenure. Having hired, worked with, trained, and mentored all types of personalities, her insights, knowledge, and depth of experience within the recruitment lifecycle give her immeasurable insights into resumes, or CV’s, cover letters, and the communications necessary as part of the first step in the recruitment process after an applicant hits the “submit” button. To this day, Ahlam still counsels her former employees, and mentees with their career management. She looks at the skills they have/had in their previous roles and targets their resumes to fit into the new focused position or industry they are wanting to migrate into. Reviewing expired certificates, bolstering experience with new achievements, projects, and re-aligning the digital platform to better showcase their skills, background, elevating their communication, collaboration, and cooperation capabilities which are crucial in this ever-changing business world. As well as sprucing up profiles, the basics are also checked, so the likes of spelling and grammar, focused on the target region are validated. Overall, the end product is designed to more efficiently help individuals play on their strengths. In our digital world the human impression is still a necessary connection to make, therefore a resume is often the first meet and greet. You have the opportunity to share a little about yourself, in hopes of making a lasting impression. You give enough to make it impactful, yet leave out other elements to elicit a mystery, thereby prompting the other party or person to become intrigued and want to follow up and know more. As a Palestinian American who was given the opportunity to connect with other women across the entire MEA region, helping those with resumes in recognizing what is too much or too little information is my way to give back to this community.
